At the beginning of the New Year we shared information regarding a phone scam in which the caller poses as a utility company and demands immediate payment. We have recently learned that the scammers are now masking their caller ID to make the call appear to be coming from the utility itself. This is happening throughout the state of Ohio, and as we have recently learned from one of our supplier partners, it is also happening in Iowa. In this article from NBC4i in Columbus, they provide a list of helpful tips from the Better Business Bureau to help protect yourself. To learn more about the phone scam, you can read our first article here.
